Atlantic Western Transportation appoints Ricketts to head sales, marketing

Atlantic Western Transportation Inc. (AWT) recently promoted Chris Ricketts to manager of sales and marketing for the company's rail operations, according to the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association's newsletter.

Ricketts has served in the transportation division of AWT subsidiary the Heart of Georgia Railroad Inc. since the 177-mile short line's inception in 2000. AWT also owns the Georgia Midland Railroad.

"Chris brings a strong understanding of the railroad's operations as related to customer needs," said AWT President and Chief Executive Officer Brad Lafevers.
