American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) consultant Mike Ogborn has been elected to a two-year term as chair of the Colorado Freight Advisory Council (FAC).
FAC members represent a range of freight industry stakeholders, including rail. The FAC advises the Colorado Department of Transportation on freight-related issues, priorities, projects and funding needs, according to an ASLRRA newsletter.
The council also educates the public and other stakeholders on the needs of the freight transportation system in Colorado, provides guidance on policy and planning level activities and identifies strategies and tactics to address the operational needs of the system.
Ogborn has served as a senior adviser to the ASLRRA since 2012 and is president of Ogborn Consulting Group LLC. He previously served as managing director at OmniTRAX Inc. from 1992 to 2012.
