The Bi-State Development Board of Commissioners (BSD) last week elected several new officers for the 2022-23 fiscal year.

Illinois Commissioner Herbert Simmons became chair, while Missouri Commissioner Sam Gladney will serve as vice chairman. Illinois Commissioner Terry Beach will serve as treasurer and Missouri Commissioner Nate Johnson as secretary. The new officers assumed their roles immediately following the June 24 election.

"We are so fortunate that our commissioners are actively engaged in board activities and we appreciate their dedication to make the region better through Bi-State Development and its diverse enterprises," said Taulby Roach, president and CEO, in a press release.

Simmons succeeds Rose Windmiller, who served as chair for the past two years.

BSD operates Metro Transit-St. Louis in Missouri that includes a 46-mile light-rail system.
