Sound Transit has hired John Henry as chief financial officer.

Henry will start the new job in late February 2023, Sound Transit officials said in a press release.

Henry has more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and treasury services. He is currently the CFO of the American Public Transportation Association, where he oversees strategic direction, financial management and IT functions.

At Sound Transit, Henry will help oversee the transit agency's expansion program.

"As we enter a period of rapid expansion, John will bring deep experience in finance and strategy and a highly collaborative and innovative approach to managing large and complex operating and capital budgets," said Sound Transit CEO Julie Timm.

Previously, Henry was CFO of the Jefferson County Commission in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition, he's held several roles in private-sector banking, including as vice president at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and director at MW Logistics Inc.
