Gulf and Atlantic taps Bevil as general counsel, chief legal officer

Gulf and Atlantic Railways (GAR) has hired Kristin Bevil as general counsel and chief legal officer.

Most recently, Bevil served as general counsel for Pioneer Lines from 2019 to 2022, when the company was acquired by Patriot Rail, GAR officials said in a press release. Previously, she was general counsel for the Indiana Rail Road Co.

Bevil serves on the board of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association as vice president-central region and is a member of the association's executive committee. She has also been involved with Operation Lifesaver Inc., having served as vice chair for the Indiana division.

Formerly known as RailUSA, Gulf and Atlantic Railways owns the 430-mile Florida, Gulf and Atlantic Railroad and the 228-mile Grenada Railroad.
