Amtrak taps Hamlisch as EVP, CCO

Amtrak has hired Eliot Hamlisch to serve as executive vice president and chief commercial officer.

Hamlisch will be responsible for corporate marketing, sales distribution, network and consist planning, market research, pricing and revenue management for the Northeast Corridor, state-supported and long distance service lines, according to an Amtrak press release.

"Eliot will lead our continued transformation of the customer experience. If we are going to achieve our goal of doubling our ridership by 2040, we need to delight our customers at every step of their journey with us," said Amtrak President Roger Harris. "Our ability to grow our customer base and revenue depends on us consistently providing this great experience."

Most recently, Hamlisch was EVP and chief marketing officer of  theater company AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. Prior to AMC, Hamlisch was as EVP of loyalty and revenue optimization at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. His oversight at Wyndham spanned the company’s loyalty, customer engagement, credit card, partnerships, distribution and revenue management functions. He also served as the company’s head of global sales.

Earlier in his career, Hamlisch held leadership roles at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Deloitte Consulting and American Express.
