Shumsky to head Florida East Coast's human resources department

Yesterday, Florida East Coast Industries Inc. (FECI) announced it appointed Edward Shumsky executive vice president and chief human resource officer. Reporting to Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Adolfo Henriques, Shumsky will be responsible for the company's organizational operations and integration of human resources related to FECI’s recent Codina Group Inc. acquisition.

Shumsky most recently managed Watson Wyatt Worldwide’s Miami office. During his 16-year Watson Wyatt career, he also served as director of marketing and business development, director of account management for the southeastern U.S. and managing consultant for the Miami office.

Prior to Watson Wyatt, Shumsky served as executive assistant and counsel to E.F. Hutton & Co.’s CEO, an antitrust lawyer in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition and legal advisor to the Bureau’s director.

FECI owns the 351-mile Florida East Coast Railway L.L.C. and real estate development firm Flagler Development.
