Former Association of American Railroads Executive Vice President for Safety and Operations Charles Dettmann has joined freight- and passenger-rail security consultant RailSecure as senior technical advisor on rail security. He also will serve on the board of RailSecure parent Mobius Security Group.

Prior to the AAR — where he retired in May 2003 — Dettmann spent 25 years with the Union Pacific and Missouri Pacific railroads in various capacities.

“Chuck Dettmann is a singular and commanding figure in railroad security,” said RailSecure President Kim Petersen in a prepared statement. “None of us will ever forget his justifiably acclaimed leadership in the months and years following the tragedies of 9/11.”

RailSecure provides risk consulting and management, rail guarding abd security training services.
