Last month, the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) appointed Vice Chairman Frank Colonna chairman. A Long Beach, Calif., councilman, Colonna succeeds Los Angeles Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who now will serve as vice chairman.

Colonna joined the Long Beach city council in 1998. He served as the city’s vice mayor from July 2002 to July 2004.

ACTA’s governing board comprises representatives from the cities and ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and the L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The authority governs the Alameda Corridor, a 20-mile freight-rail expressway that links the ports with yards east of downtown L.A.
