The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) is honoring two Patriot Rail Co. LLC employees with the association's annual individual safety awards.

The association has named locomotive engineer George Johnson Jr. the Safety Person of the Year, and Vice President of Safety, Training and Regulatory Herman Crosson the Safety Professional of the Year.

The awards will be presented at ASLRRA’s annual convention Nov. 17-19 in Phoenix.

"The ASLRRA is pleased to recognize two individuals who have dedicated their careers to providing leadership in safety performance. There is no higher calling on a railroad than the commitment to bringing all team members home safely, every night, despite multiple competing priorities," said ASLRRA President Chuck Baker in a news release.
