Alaska Railroad Corp. (ARRC) yesterday announced several promotions and transfers of employees to key positions in operations, resulting in leadership changes within the company.

The most recent change involved Shane Maloney, who joined ARRC in 2011. Effective July 1, he became AARC’s newest facilities director, advancing from his previous position of real estate manager.

Other ARRC leadership changes made over the past several months include:

• Cat Clarke was hired as corporate communications officer to succeed Stephenie Wheeler, who retired;
• Bryan Cothren was promoted to director of locomotive maintenance operations;
• Tucker Remley was promoted from manager to director of guest services;
• Rusty Pochatko, an eight-year veteran of the mechanical division, was named director of car and trailer-on-flat car (TOFC) and the point of contact for car shops and TOFC operations in Anchorage and Fairbanks;
• David Greenhalgh transitioned from director of strategic marketing initiatives and guest services to director of freight sales and marketing;
• Amy Kinnaman was promoted from assistant controller to controller, following the promotion of Michelle Maddox to chief financial officer;
• Christina Isabelle-Glover was promoted from project analyst manager to director of grants; and
• Dwayne Atwood was promoted from assistant port manager to port manager at Seward.

"As part of the railroad’s corporate goal to develop and grow leadership from within its ranks, the promotions and organizational advancements highlight the depth of skills held by the talented employees of ARRC," said President and CEO Bill O'Leary in a press release.
