Alaska Railroad names Maddox CFO

The Alaska Railroad Corp. (ARRC) has promoted Michelle Maddox to the role of chief financial officer.
Maddox's promotion acknowledges her wealth of finance and rail industry experience, including 25 years at ARRC, company officials said in a press release. She started at the railroad as head of payroll and accounts payable and was promoted to controller in 2020.
Now as head of the ARRC's finance division, Maddox oversees financial planning and analysis, accounting, supply management, grant administration, technology and risk management. She also advises the railroad's executive management team and board of directors on financial matters.
"With Michelle, we could not have had a more prepared and qualified candidate to fill the critical CFO role," said ARRC President and CEO Bill O'Leary. "We are very fortunate to have Michelle’s proven leadership and the kind of extensive corporate knowledge that comes with a railroad career spanning well over two decades."
Maddox’s promotion took effect Jan. 18. She succeeds Barbara Amy, who left ARRC in mid-January to become senior vice president and CFO at NANA Regional Corp. in Anchorage, Alaska.
