The Port Authority of Allegheny County recently named Stephen Bland chief executive officer to succeed Dennis Veraldi, who’s been filling in as interim CEO since Paul Skoutelas left the agency in September to join Parsons Brinckerhoff.
For the past four years, Bland has served as executive director of the Capital District Transportation Authority in Albany, N.Y. He previously held the top post at RabbitTransit. Currently president of the New York Public Transit Association, Bland served a stint as chairman of the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association board.
If the board approves a five-year contract at its May 26 meeting, Bland will assume the top post June 12.
