BART appoints board officers, members

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) recently named a board president, vice president and three directors.
Director Joel Keller was named board president to succeed James Fang. Elected to the board in 1994, Keller currently serves as assistant superintendent at the Solano County juvenile hall. He previously served as BART board president and mayor of Antioch.
Director Carole Ward Allen was named board VP. Elected to the board in 1998, she has extensive administration and public relations experience.
BART also named Gail Murray, Bob Franklin and Zoyd Luce directors.
Murray currently serves as president of Gail Murray Consulting, specializing in public transit policy and planning. Former mayor of Walnut Creek, she also is a research associate with the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University.
Franklin previously served BART in the finance and planning departments.
Now the president of his own consulting firm, Risorgimento Management, Luce previously served as BART’s haz-mat and environmental compliance manager.
