David Dinges has been reelected to his second term as chairman of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen's (BLET) Maryland State Legislative Board (SLB).

Dinges was elected chairman four years ago when the BLET's Maryland SLB was founded. He joined CSX as a brakeman and conductor in 1993 and was promoted to locomotive engineer in 1994. He's been a BLET member since 2008, union officials said in a press release.

In 2019, the Maryland SLB helped lobby for a two-person crew bill that passed the legislature, but died when it reached Gov. Larry Hogan's desk.

Dinges said the SLB plans to pursue a two-person crew bill again in 2021.
