Burlington Northern Santa Fe recently named Julie Piggott assistant vice president of direct marketing to succeed Dick Ebel, who now serves as AVP of intermodal/automotive. The railroad also promoted Paul Bischler to AVP and assistant controller to succeed Piggott.

Piggott previously served as general director of planning, forecasting and transportation budgeting; general director of closing, forecasting and planning; director of forecasting; and director of special projects and capital planning. Prior to joining BNSF in 1991, she held various positions with Ernst & Young and Corporate BancServices.

"Julie's leadership and success within the finance department earned her the opportunity to take on a new set of responsibilities in line with BNSF's developmental and cross-functional philosophy," said Steve Branscum, BNSF group vice president, consumer products, in a prepared statement.

Bischler most recently served as general director of external reporting and disbursements. He joined BNSF in 1997 as general director of operations planning and control. Bischler previously held various positions with accounting firm Price Waterhouse.
