The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) has elected BNSF Railway Co. Executive Chairman Matt Rose as chairman and Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. Chief Executive Officer and General Manager James Jura, as vice chairman.

Kevin Crutchfield, chairman and CEO of Alpha Natural Resources, will step down as chairman when his term ends Dec. 31.

Rose has more than 30 years of railroad industry experience and previously served as BNSF's CEO for 13 years and chairman for 11 years before becoming executive chairman at the beginning of 2014. Since he joined the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1993, Rose also  served stints as BNSF's president and chief operating officer. Rose was the recipient of Progressive Railroading's Railroad Innovator of the Year award in 2010.

Jura has served the Associated Electric Cooperative for more than 20 years and previously filled multiple roles at the Bonneville Power Administration.

"Matt and Jim enter their new roles at an important time for our industry, which faces unprecedented regulatory overreach from an activist White House," said ACCCE President and CEO Mike Duncan in a press release.

ACCCE is a coalition of companies primarily involved in electricity generation, transportation and coal production.
