Bass named executive director of Texas DOT

The Texas Transportation Commission late last week selected James Bass as the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) new executive director.

Bass, who has been serving as the department's chief financial officer since 2006, will begin his new role Jan. 1, TxDOT officials said in a press release.

Prior to working as CFO, Bass was finance division director at TxDOT. When he begins his new job, he will be the department's 21st executive director.
