The Port of Tacoma, Wash., recently appointed Tom Bellerud to head container terminal business development. He succeeds Brendan Dugan, who left the port last year.

Bellerud will be responsible for the profitability and growth of the port's international and domestic container business, including strategies for capital investment, maintenance and repair, and new business solutions.

Most recently regional sales manager for Horizon Lines, he has more than 20 years of experience in the maritime and transportation industry. Bellerud previously held various management positions at CSX Lines, Sea-Land Service, CSXT Intermodal and CMX Trucking.

The port is served by BNSF Railway Co., Union Pacific Railroad and Tacoma Rail, which provides switching services.
