Bombardier Transportation, North America President William Spurr recently was named honorary president of the International Forum on Urban Mobility and Advanced Transportation, or MUTA 2004.

To be held Sept. 15-18 in Quebec, the forum will include a speech by Spurr about his experiences with issues related to public transportation.

"In these times of growing needs related to public transportation and government budgetary constraints, we can discuss ways to maximize the dollars invested in public transportation," said Spurr in a prepared statement. "We can also take advantage of the opportunity to analyze public-private partnership experiences that have contributed to the growth in financing of public transportation projects."
