On Feb. 18, Bombardier Inc. named Andre Navarri president of Bombardier Transportation, effective Feb. 22.

Navarri most recently served Alcatel as president of operations. He previously served automotive-component supplier Valeo S.A. as chairman and chief executive officer, and spent 20 years at the ALSTOM Group in various capacities, including transportation division president.

"His intimate knowledge of the transportation business, and his combined ability to set a strategic plan and execute it strongly complement his project management skills, and his keen appreciation for the importance of cost effectiveness," said Bombardier President and CEO Paul Tellier in a prepared statement.

Last month, Bombardier reorganized its rail transportation group, splitting the positions of president and chief operating officer, and appointing Wolfgang Toelsner COO.
