Alice Bravo, director of Miami-Dade TransitLast month, Miami-Dade Transit appointed Alice Bravo to serve as director to oversee all public transportation services in the county.

Bravo also works closely with federal and local government agencies to improve and expand transportation, Miami-Dade Transit officials said in a post on the agency’s website.

Most recently, Bravo served as Miami's deputy city manager and chief of infrastructure, where she oversaw six departments, including capital improvements and transportation, planning and zoning, and information technology.

She got her start with the city as capital improvements director, with responsibility for implementing Miami's trolley circulator system.

She also oversaw a $573 million capital improvement program during her time with the city.

Before taking her job at the city of Miami, Bravo served as district six director of transportation systems development with the Florida Department of Transportation.
