Yesterday, Canadian National Railway Co. announced it appointed Stan Jablonski and Jean-Jacques Ruest to newly created senior vice president positions.

VP of sales since April 2004, Jablonski will serve as SVP of sales and continue to be responsible for forest and industrial products, bulk commodities and intermodal sales. Previously VP of sales for Kruger Inc., he joined CN in June 1999 as VP of forest products.

VP of marketing the past two years, Ruest will serve as SVP of marketing and continue to be responsible for forest products, metals and minerals, petroleum and chemicals, bulk commodities and automotive marketing functions. Since joining CN in 1996 as VP of petroleum and chemicals, he served a stint as VP of industrial products. Ruest previously spent 16 years at chemical company ICI.

“The promotions recognize [their] successes and recent assumption … of the sales and marketing functions of CN’s bulk commodities business,” said Executive VP of Sales and Marketing James Foote in a prepared statement.
