CSX names Adams SVP of sales

CSX has promoted Arthur Adams to senior vice president of sales.
Previously, Adams was head of marketing services and led a transformation of customer service operations and e-solutions enhancements, CSX officials said in a press release. He joined CSX in 2007 with experience in the retail and health-care sectors.
Since joining the company, Adams has helped strengthen CSX's market position and customer relationships. In his new role, he will be responsible for all sales portfolios within agriculture and food, chemicals, fertilizers, paper and forest, and metals and minerals segments. He also will lead customer engagement and CSX subsidiary TRANSFLO.
Adams will continue to report to CSX Executive VP of Sales and Marketing Mark Wallace.
"[Adams'] demonstrated leadership abilities, his knowledge of merchandise business and his strategic vision are invaluable as we implement our strategy to provide customers with more value-added solutions throughout their supply chain and enhance customer engagement," said Wallace.
In 2017, Progressive Railroading named Adams a "Rising Star" in the North American rail industry.
