Yesterday, Canadian Transport Minister Jean Lapierre nominated Paul Coté to serve as president and chief executive officer of VIA Rail Canada Inc. The nomination will be reviewed by the Standing Committee on Transport.
Coté currently serves as interim president and CEO, and chief operating officer. In 1978, he joined VIA Rail, serving in the marketing department. He later held three senior vice president positions before being named COO in 2001.
