Cando Rail names Buettner chief legal officer

Cando Rail & Terminals has hired Eric Buettner as the company's first chief legal officer.

Buettner has provided external counsel to Cando Rail since 2018 on transactional, commercial and real estate. He has more than 10 years of experience in corporate and commercial law. As CLO, he will be based in the company's Winnipeg corporate office in Manitoba, Canada.

“Cando has quickly become one of North America’s largest owners and operators of first and last mile rail infrastructure,” said Cando Rail President and CEO Brian Cornick in a press release. “Bringing in a CLO of Eric’s caliber will be invaluable to Cando as we enter our most ambitious chapter yet.”

Buettner has advised private corporations and shareholders in negotiation, purchases and sales of businesses, structuring and mergers, finance, planning, organization, governance, and shareholder agreements.
