Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Capital Metro) President and Chief Executive Officer Linda Watson has been named to the board of the Texas Transportation Hall of Honor at the Texas Transportation Institute. She will serve a four-year term.

The Hall of Honor recognizes individuals’ contributions to developing Texas’ multi-modal transportation system. As a board member, Watson will help review nominations and select inductees, Capital Metro officials said in a prepared statement.

“Linda’s vast knowledge and experience in transportation, especially in the area of public transit, will add a great deal of prestige to the board,” said Dennis Christiansen, Hall of Honor chairman and agency director of the Texas Transportation Institute.

Meanwhile, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald has named Joseph Brimmeier to serve on the Port Authority of Allegheny County’s board. His term will expire Dec. 31, 2016.

Brimmeier has extensive experience in transportation and government, including stints as chief executive officer of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, chief of staff to former U.S. Rep. Ron Klink (D-Murrysville) and deputy auditor general for Pennsylvania.
