The Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority's (CCJPA) board has elected Rebecca Saltzman as chair and Don Saylor as vice chair. They each will serve two-year terms.

Saltzman has served on the CCJPA board since January 2014 and also serves as vice president on Bay Area Rapid Transit's (BART) board.

She has spent the past two decades as a public transit and policy advocate, coalition builder, organizer and manager with local, state and national issue-based organizations, CCJPA officials said in a press release. Saltzman previously served as government affairs manager and interim executive director for the California League of Conservation Voters.

Saylor has served on CCJPA's board since September 2016. His professional public service career spans nearly 40 years, including 20 years in elected office, administrative, planning and analytical positions in local and state government.

The CCJPA also added the following new board members: Mark Foley, BART board director for District 2 of Contra Costa County; Janice Li, BART board director for District 8 of San Francisco County; and Kerri Howell, Sacramento Regional Transit District board member.

CCJPA is the managing body of the Capitol Corridor intercity rail service in northern California that serves points between Sacramento and Silicon Valley, including San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley.
