CentrePort Canada Inc. has hired Carly Edmundson as the inland port company’s president and CEO, effective May 29.

Edmundson worked for the company from 2013 to 2019 in the marketing department, most recently as executive director of marketing and communications. She now comes to CentrePort from real estate firm Cushman and Wakefield Stevenson, where she was senior vice president, company officials said in a press release. She also has worked for Price Industries, Wellington West and Winnipeg Airports Authority.

“Edmundson is a tenacious and creative leader with a background in transportation, commercial and industrial real estate, investment attraction and strategic communications,” CentrePort officials said. “Her extensive background in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and community-building positions her to lead the organization as it continues to build its reputation as a global leader in transportation and trade.”

Construction of the 665-acre CentrePort Canada Rail Park near Winnipeg, Manitoba, is slated to begin this spring. Earlier this year, the Canadian government awarded up to $18 million to CentrePort through the National Trade Corridors Fund for the rail park's second mainline switch, several miles of track, a lift station and connections to access roads. CentrePort also has secured $60 million in funding for CentrePort South expansion project.
