BNSF Railway Co. recently promoted Steve Curtright to general manager of the Kansas Division. Most recently the division’s general director of transportation, Curtright succeeds Danny Reynolds, who recently was appointed general superintendent of transportation of the South Region.

Since joining BNSF in 1979, Curtright has served as assistant trainmaster, trainmaster, assistant superintendent, division superintendent and superintendent of network operations.

BNSF also named T.D. Smith second general superintendent of transportation for the Central Region. He will be responsible for the region’s coal routes. The railroad plans to name a second general superintendent of transportation for the region to increase oversight of coal traffic.

Since beginning his BNSF career in 1978, Smith has held stints as assistant trainmaster, manager of operating practices, trainmaster, superintendent of operations, superintendent of network operations and assistant general superintendent of transportation.
