Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) President and CEO Joe Mazur announced he will retire on Sept. 30.

Mazur assumed leadership of CVSR in March 2017. Throughout his tenure, he has led the organization through  challenges such as the global pandemic and three years of track erosion issues that suspended and then modified train operations, CVSR officials said in a news release.

In addition, he oversaw the organization's $4 million capital campaign that resulted in the California Zephyr’s Vista Domes, along with many passenger car upgrades.

"Under his leadership, the organization went through a period of innovation, growth and transformation. We are extremely grateful for Joe’s many contributions and wish him well,” said CVSR Chairman James Virost.
