DART hires Barket as chief of staff

Dallas Area Rapid Transit has selected Jenny Barket as its new chief of staff, effective May 15.

Barket will serve as a senior adviser to DART President and CEO Nadine Lee. She will focus on strategic, tactical and operational initiatives, DART officials said in a press release.

Previously, Barket was a director at WSP USA, where she was a strategic adviser for nationwide projects, including the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority’s BART – Silicon Valley Phase II Extension, the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission SunRail Transition Study and the New Jersey Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Extension.

Barket has also served as legal counsel to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Build America Bureau, the Federal Transit Administration and the Regional Transportation District in Denver.

Barket's "impressive leadership style, comprehensive experience, knowledge of the public transportation industry and strategic understanding of operations will bring DART to a whole new level of service for the Dallas-Fort Worth region," Lee said.
