Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has named Nicole Fontayne chief information officer and Joseph Costello — the former executive director of Chicago's Regional Transportation Authority — vice president of finance.

Fontayne has more than 14 years of experience in senior positions at the city of Detroit and Broward County, Fla. In her new role, she will oversee DART's management information systems, intelligent transportation systems, networks and telecommunications. She also will be responsible for developing and implementing information technology and intelligent transportation systems that support the agency's strategic goals.

Prior to joining DART, Fontayne served as engagement manager with the Everest Group, a global management consulting firm.

As VP of Finance, Costello will supervise DART's budget process, financial planning, debt financing and management, treasury, funds management, revenue administration and collection, grants management, accounting and business process re-engineering.

Costello retired in February from RTA, where he also served as its chief financial officer prior to being named executive director.
