Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) appointed John Rhone vice president of capital design and construction, the agency announced yesterday.
Rhone's responsibilities will include oversight of staff engaged in design, construction and utility coordination of DART's major capital projects, agency officials said in a press release.
Since 2012, Rhone has served as DART's assistant VP of ways, structures and amenities. Since 1993, he has served in various roles at the agency, including senior manager of traction electrification systems, construction project manager, technical coordinator and associate engineer.
In 2001, Rhone spent a year in St. Louis at the Bi-State Development Agency, where he worked as deputy project director and rail systems engineer.
