The Denton County Transportation Authority last week announced Paul Cristina will become president and CEO.

Cristina has led the Texas transit agency as interim CEO since March 15. Previously, he worked for BNSF Railway Co. as director of public-private partnerships. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and has experience as a civil engineer and planning consultant.

"The DCTA Board appreciates Paul's collaborative communication and leadership style, and he has gained the trust and confidence of the board over the last six months," said DCTA Board Chair Cesar Molina in a press release. "We believe that his experience and vision will enable our agency to realize its tremendous potential to deliver value to the residents of Denton County and our region."

Cristina succeeds Raymond Suarez, who resigned March 31. Suarez had been president and CEO since September 2018.
