The Delaware Transit Corp. (DTC) has named Lauren Skiver executive director.
Skiver joined the agency after serving several years as deputy chief operating officer for the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), DTC officials said in a prepared statement.
She has worked in the transit industry for 16 years, starting as a bus maintenance clerk in 1996 at the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit system in Tampa, Fla. After completing the executive internship program there, she was named director of paratransit operations and customer service in 2000.
In 2006, she was named director of mobility at MTA, where she was promoted to deputy COO in 2009. Prior to her transit career, Skiver served for nearly 10 years in the U.S. Army with a tour in Iraq as an imagery intelligence specialist.
