Yesterday, President Bush nominated Goldman Sachs Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Henry Paulson Jr. as U.S. treasury secretary to replace John Snow, who resigned.
In 2002, Snow resigned as chairman and CEO of CSX Corp. to take the cabinet position. He served as treasury secretary since February 2003.
A leading Wall Street banker, Paulson has held Goldman Sachs top position since May 1999.
