The National Industrial Transportation League's (NITL) former president will continue to play a role in the transportation industry.
First Industrial Realty Trust Inc. recently named John Ficker vice president of supply chain solutions. Among his responsibilities at the industrial real estate firm: help customers develop vertically integrated supply chains involving all modes.
Ficker resigned from NITL Nov. 14 after serving as president since 2003. He has more than 35 years' experience in transportation and logistics management. His previous positions include logistics development manager for Weyerhaeuser Co., corporate transportation manager for Publishers Paper Co., several sales-related posts at Southern Pacific Transportation Co. and president of the American Society of Transportation and Logistics.
