George to succeed Martin as Fort Worth & Western's president

The Fort Worth & Western Railroad (FWWR) recently named Steven George president to succeed Jim Martin, who will retire April 1.

Most recently vice president of planning and support, George joined FWWR in 2000. He previously held various positions at the Santa Fe and Burlington Northern railroads.

FWWR also named Vernon Colbert vice president and chief operating officer. Most recently VP and general manager, Colbert joined the short line in 2004. He previously served the Santa Fe Railroad, Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad Corp., RailAmerica Inc. and California Northern Railroad in various capacities.

Formed in 1988, the 276-mile FWWR interchanges with BNSF Railway Co., Kansas City Southern and Union Pacific Railroad.
