Pennsylvania Gov.-elect Josh Shapiro has nominated Michael Carroll to become the state's secretary of transportation.
Carroll is a former Democratic state representative of northeastern Pennsylvania who served in the state Legislature from 2007 to 2022. He was the chairman of the state House Transportation Committee from 2018 to 2022, WHTM-TV in Harrisburg reported.
"I'm confident ... Mike Carroll [and other nominees] will bring new energy to Pennsylvania state government and help make us a national leader in innovation, manufacturing and job creation," Shapiro said.
Carroll's nomination requires approval by the state Senate.
