Greater Cleveland RTA's Calabrese recognized locally for leadership

Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) General Manager Joe Calabrese recently received the Sen. George V. Voinovich Public Works Employee of the Year Award from the Build Up Greater Cleveland organization.

Calabrese was recognized for his “dedicated service” to the greater Cleveland area through his leadership at the agency and as a community partner, GCRTA officials said in a prepared statement.

His work at the authority and community involvement helped GCRTA become regionally “synonymous with economic development” Greater Cleveland Partnership President Joe Roman said of Calabrese when presenting the award last month.

"Only by public and private organizations working together can we succeed in making major infrastructure projects happen," Calabrese said.


Calabrese is the third winner of the award, which was created in honor of Voinovich and his service to the Cleveland area.
