Hampton Roads Transit’s (HRT) executive committee has recommended William Harrell, city manager of Chesapeake, Va., as the agency’s next president and chief executive officer, according to a Jan. 4 Virginian-Pilot article posted yesterday on HRT’s website.
The committee recently interviewed three finalists for the position, which will be vacant when current President and CEO Philip Shucet’s contract expires at the end of January. The other finalists are Dan Anninos, Army Corps of Engineers chief of staff; and Harry Black, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Global Commerce Solutions in Washington, D.C., the newspaper reported.
The committee’s recommendation of Harrell will go to the agency’s full commission for consideration on Jan. 26, the article stated.
