The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) recently named Teresa Hart director of the public transportation division, effective March 19. She will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the division, which oversees the development of intercity, urban and rural public transportation in the state, including intercity rail and light rail.
Hart has served NCDOT for more than 26 years in such roles as assistant branch manager, unit head and project planning engineer for the Project Development and Environmental Analysis Branch.
“Her experience in the areas of planning, programs and public service will be invaluable in helping the department support an economically sound and efficient public transportation system,” said NCDOT Deputy Secretary for Transit Paul Morris in a prepared statement.
