The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (JPB) last week added Steve Heminger to its board to represent the city and county of San Francisco.

He was appointed to the board by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA).

Heminger serves on SFMTA’s board and recently retired as executive director of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in San Francisco.

The JPB is the governing body of Caltrain, the commuter-rail service that operates in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties in California. Caltrain is managed by the San Mateo County Transit District, in partnership with the city and county of San Francisco and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.

The nine-member JPB includes three members from each of the three partner agencies.
