High-Speed Rail Alliance names Roberts to board of directors

The High Speed Rail Alliance (HSRA) has appointed Russell Roberts a board member.

Roberts has spent much of his professional career working in transportation policy and advocacy both in Congress and the private sector, according to a news release.

He served as vice president of government affairs for Brightline rom 2013 to 2020. Previously, he was the longtime chief of staff to former House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman John Mica (R-Florida) and managing director of the transportation practice at BGR Government Affairs.

Following his retirement from Brightline, Roberts was appointed to the Florida Transportation Commission.
