INRD promotes Milton to safety, training director

The Indiana Rail Road Co. has promoted Austin Milton to director of safety and training, the railroad announced yesterday.
In his new role, Milton will coordinate the railroad’s safety operations, including the development, implementation and administration of safety programs, practices, procedures and training, INRD officials said in a press release. He will also continue performing workplace safety audits and promoting safety accountability for employees.
Milton joined the INRD in 2011 as a train operator. Since then, he moved up the ranks of responsibility. In 2016, he was named manager of safety and training.
Before joining INRD, Milton was a manager trainee and trainmaster at CSX.
In December 2022, INRD marked a year of zero reportable accidents or injuries.
