In memoriam: Iowa Pacific sales leader and supply industry veteran Jack Dapkus

Jack Dapkus, Iowa Pacific Holdings L.L.C.'s vice president of sales and a longtime railroad supply industry veteran, died on April 5 from complications related to heart surgery. He was 62.

Dapkus joined Iowa Pacific in 2002 from ABC-NACO, where he was VP of sales and marketing. He spent nearly 30 years in the rail supply industry, serving as a sales and marketing exec at Trancisco Railcar Repair, and holding various sales and materials management posts at National Castings, Cardwell Westinghouse, Westinghouse Air Brake and Pullman-Standard.

Dapkus is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; two sons and a daughter; and four grandchildren. The family asks that memorials be made to St. Michael Church, 14355 Highland Ave., Orland Park, Ill., 60462.
