The Indiana Rail Road Co. (IRR) recently named Tony Orr vice president of operations and Lon Van Gemert, vice president and general manager of new subsidiary Dependable Rail Services (DRS).

Orr most recently served Norfolk Southern Railway as superintendent of terminals in Elkhart, Ind., where he helped reduce reportable injuries from 12 in 1999 to one in 2002. Orr served the Class I for nearly 20 years in a number of capacities.

Van Gemert will develop a new training program for operating employees and head DRS, which provides customized industrial switching services.

"IRR has been approached by so many companies seeking a service like this that we decided to establish DRS to fill that need," said IRR President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Hoback in a prepared statement.
