Iowa Interstate Railroad Ltd. (IAIS) recently promoted Executive Vice President Dennis Miller to president. He also serves as president and chief executive officer of IAIS subsidiary Rail Traffic Control Inc., which markets computerized Track Warrant Control software, and provides consulting services and rules training to railroads.

A more than 30-year railroad industry veteran, Miller has spent the past 20 years with IAIS, serving as a locomotive engineer and in various managerial capacities. In June 2002, he was named EVP and assumed day-to-day management of the railroad following the retirement of President and CEO John Roy. Miller previously served Peoria & Pekin Union Railway and the Rock Island Railroad in various operating positions.

"Miller has played a major role in transforming the Iowa Interstate Railroad from a start-up operation 20 years ago into the successful regional railroad it is today," said Bob Pietrandrea, president of IAIS parent Railroad Development Corp., in a prepared statement.

Operating more than 500 track miles between Omaha, Neb., and Chicago, and interchanging with all the Class Is, IAIS moves grain, agricultural products, steel, scrap, appliances, chemicals, forest products, and intermodal containers and trailers.
