Kansas City Southern recently named Richard Zuza senior vice president of international purchasing and materials and Brian Banks, associate general counsel.

Most recently VP of procurement for Allstate Insurance Co., Zuza will lead the newly created international purchasing and materials group, which will manage purchasing and materials functions for KCS subsidiaries The Kansas City Southern Railway Co., The Texas Mexican Railway Co., TFM S.A. de C.V., and Superior Tie and Timber. He previously served as VP of purchasing for Gibson Greetings Inc. and held a variety of purchasing positions with General Electric Co.

"As we consolidate our purchasing and materials functions over the next several months, [Zuza’s] leadership will help KCS capitalize on operational efficiencies and greater buying power," said KCS Executive VP and Chief Operations Officer Art Shoener in a prepared statement.

Banks previously represented buyers, sellers and borrowers in corporate financial transactions for Stinson Morrison Hecker L.L.P.’s general business division.
